360 Degree Displays Offer an Attractive Display Solution for Sports Venues

With the NHL hockey season in full swing, and the NBA basketball season just around the corner, we would like to highlight how DynaScan 360 degree LED video displays can provide an attractive display solution for special event and sports venues. Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club, Toronto Raptors basketball club, and the Toronto Rock lacrosse team, employed the use of three DS0616 video displays at its entrance. The displays are arranged approximately ten feet away from each other in a triangular configuration in the venue’s Atrium Concourse. The DynaScan displays are used to create a visual distinction between an open air Leafs TV and Raptors NBA TV studio and the general public space.

The DynaScan 360 degree screens were chosen for their unique design and standalone capability. Dwayne Brown, Manager of Venue Services, remarks, “These units are truly stand-alone systems – in that you don’t need to build a special housing around them like you would a traditional flat screen display.  And as such, they can be placed in the middle of an open air space and offer a view from all sides – this was an important part of our design.” All the screens are all wired to a single media player, each one having its own output from that player. Making what Brown refers to as “part of a spanned canvas”.

Feedback of the DynaScan displays has been positive, and has attracted the attention of fans and guests. “The response has been as you would expect – “wow” and “cool”… We have seen people getting their pictures taken in front of the units and kids love to run around them watching the video,” Brown says.
