DynaScan Powered WEBtis Kiosks Give Tourists Information at the Touch of a Fingertip

System integrator and DynaScan channel partner, tis touristik-informations-systeme, has recently begun offering its outdoor WEBtis information kiosks with high brightness screens from DynaScan.

WEBtis is a user-friendly web-based information system for outdoor and indoor use and accesses existing site or regional web pages, allowing guests to always have the most current information delivered from the Internet.  Using the touch screen interface, users can retrieve information such as accommodations, upcoming of events and attractions, education and culture, sports and leisure activities, city and regional information, as well as weather forecasts, webcams.

The kiosks have already been installed in a variety of locations throughout the Bavarian resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, including the Richard-Strauss-Platz in Garmisch, B2 (the cemetery Partenkirchen), Ludwig street, and the Olympic Ski Stadium. The information boards are networked and access the booking portal of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and its event calendar database. Tourists are able to retrieve the information they need, whenever they need, such as booking a hotel room, or locating a nearby restaurant – 24 hours a day – using the WEBtis system.

Each kiosk is powered by a DynaScan 47″ 3000 nit narrow bezel high brightness LCD. Designed to be viewable in direct sunlight, the specially designed LCD panel prevents “blackening defect” caused by high temperatures.
