DynaScan Updates 55-inch Super Narrow Bezel LCD with IPS Panel, Brighter Image, Lower Power Consumption

DynaScan Technology, a leader in manufacturing premium public displays, today introduced a new version of its 55-inch super narrow bezel LCD, the DS551LX2. The new display includes a multitude of new features including a new IPS panel, brighter 800 nit image, a 50% reduction in power consumption and a wider range of video input resolutions.

The DS551LX2 now includes an IPS LCD panel which dramatically improves accurate color when viewing from all angles. The new model has also received a 14% increase in brightness for greater visibility in high ambient light environments.  Despite the increase in brightness, the DS551LX2 consumes less than 50% power than its predecessor.

The new display features DynaScan’s new EvenGlow™ technology, which produces an evenly illuminated image and greatly reduces hot spots. Even with direct LED backlighting, lighting can appear uneven and create a visual “hot spot” toward the center of the screen with the corners slightly darker. This is especially beneficial in video wall configurations in which darker areas become more apparent where four corners join together.

For greater convenience and flexibility, the new DS551LX2 now accepts a variety of different video input resolutions, ranging from 640×480 (VGA) to 1920 x 1080 (1080p).

The DS55L1X2 includes built-in video daisy chaining. A single video source can be used for up to 36 displays without the need for any additional external video wall controller.  The narrow bezel size also makes it easy to integrate the display in an external enclosure or kiosk while maintaining a small profile.
