Zoo Goers Get Up Close to Polar Bears with High Brightness Outdoor Display
To help visitors get a glimpse of its new polar bear, Lale, born in March, the Bremerhaven Zoo in Germany recently installed a 72″ large knoXbox® outdoor display. The zoo worked with system integrator ide-tec KG to procure a solution that would be bright enough to be seen throughout the day, and large enough to be seen by as many visitors as possible.
High resolution cameras transmit a live video feed directly to the high brightness outdoor display so that every zoo visitor has the opportunity has to admire the new arrival. The knoXbox® is powered by a DynaScan 72″5000 nit DS72LT6, providing an ultra bright daylight viewable image even in direct sunlight.
Manufactured by ide-tec KG, The knoXbox® is a specially designed protective housing for LCD displays for applications in harsh outdoor environments. The unit is IP65 rated against water and dust and is temperature controlled via an integrated HVAC system.
